Service Description

This is a 7-week course that will occur every Thursday from 6:30pm-8pm. During the first 6 classes we will discuss different topics surrounding health and food, and the last week will be the Nourishing Foods Dinner. Each class will be served with a delicious, healthy gouté (snack), and a glass of raw milk. Here is a layout of the classes: Week 1 (Feb. 12): Introduction & What To Expect For the first week we will go over the structure of the lessons and what you can expect from this course. We will also discuss the last 126 years of food and health and create goals for the duration of the course. Week 2 (Feb. 19): Macronutrients (Proteins, Fats & Carbs) There is tons of confusion on the internet, especially on social media, surrounding these 3 different macronutrients. Each one is essential though and we will discuss why that is. Week 3 (Feb. 26): Micronutrients (Vitamins & Minerals) We all know that these are important, (you don't see any influencer telling you to cut one out of your diet), but for some reason we are all still deficient in a certain vitamin or mineral. We will talk about why these are so important, their roles and functions, and how to better absorb them. Week 4 (Mar. 5): Meat & Dairy We have been eating meat and dairy since the beginning of time, but it has changed quite a bit since then. In this class we will discuss just how nutrient dense these two food groups are and their ancestral heritage. Week 5 (Mar. 12): Grains & Legumes We probably all know somebody who can eat bread in France, but not here in the US. That is due to sourcing, processing, and preparation of the grains. These tiny plant-based foods can be incredibly beneficial... when prepared and eaten in a certain way. That will be the focus of this lesson. Week 6 (Mar. 19): Fruits & Veggies Most of us love fruit and some of us like veggies, am I right? We've been told for the past 60 or so years to eat our veggies so we can be healthy. But some of these foods have become toxic due to modern agriculture. So this lesson will cover the best places to source these food groups, how to properly prepare them, and how they can influence our health. Week 7 (Mar. 26) Nourishing Foods Dinner For our final week we will eat a full course, nutrient-dense dinner that will be prepared for you when you arrive. It will be an opportunity to discuss the past 6 weeks and how we did on our goals.
